Ending "Which Meeting Room Is Free?" Confusion at the Office

nobody could reliably find out what was booked, or by whom, until they'd already walked into a room mid-meeting. Departments were double-booking the same space without knowing it. The system I built covers the whole flow, not just a calendar: - A resource timeline showing every room and every booking at a glance, so conflicts are visible before they happen - Automatic conflict detection with alternative room suggestions when a slot's already taken - Tablet displays mounted outside each room, showing that day's schedule in real time — no more guessing from the hallway - A branded welcome screen for guests when they arrive - Email confirmations, 15-minute and 24-hour reminders, cancellations, and calendar (.ics) attachments - Optional manager approval before a booking is confirmed, and department-level access restrictions - Recurring meetings (daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly) and a waitlist that notifies people when a cancelled slot opens up - Two-way Google Calendar sync, so it fits into however the team already schedules its day The result: booking a room is a 10-second action instead of a hallway negotiation, and everyone — including the people walking in cold — can see at a glance whether a room is actually free.
